At a level crossing, where a railway line intersects the road, there may be countdown markers to alert you if the crossing is obscured, such as around a bend.
- If the warning lights activate as you approach the crossing – halt.
- If you’re already on the crossing when the warning lights activate or a bell sounds – continue forward and clear the crossing.
- If you’re stopped at a level crossing, a train has passed but the red lights persistently flash – remain stationary. Another train might be approaching.
